About Us!!

"Her Life, Her Choice" is an attempt towards towards happy and healthy womanhood. Here we talk about real experiences of women - the good and the bad!! In some posts, we talk through fictional characters/situations about many real issues from the lives of women around us. Is this blog for women? No!! It is for men as much as it is women, to understand the women in their lives!! As they say, we need to learn from experience, sometimes from our own and at times, from others. 

Happy women make happy families and happy families make happy world!!       


Why the name "Her Life, Her Choice" and not "My Life, My Choice"?

India is not a very restricted country for women, we are way better than some developed countries. But, we have long way to go to become gender-neutral country!! As one read/hear about Indian mythology,one might feel Indian women were more empowered in the ancient times, women were considered equal and powerful. But over years, whatever be the reasons, we lost those ideologies. Many families restrict women for societal pressures or valid safety concerns!! 

Quality of a life of a man or woman depends on the choices we make every day. The words, "My Choice" indicate a person's decision but the words,"Her Choice" are more inclusive and indicate an acceptance of that decision from family/society. We want someone (man or woman) reading articles on 'Her Life, Her Choice' understand that it is OKAY for a woman to live her life her way!! She should have full liberty to take decisions about her life. Parents and spouse may guide her, but she should be given unrestricted freedom to fly like a bird or blossom like a flower. Whatever is her choice, as long as it is right, respect it!!

Fly like a bird : Let her choose to explore the world and spread happiness outside her home.
Blossom like a flower : Let her choose to be home maker and give her full attention to her family.
